In February 2019 I was in Vietnam for three weeks and on the very first day of my stay, the diverse range of “broomstickcompositions” hit my eye. You can find the compositions made of broomsticks and other cleaning devices, almost in front of every house or storefront in Vietnam. To me, the compositions show a strong relation of the residents with public space. The compositions show that there has been lived, eaten and taken care of a space people share together.
Since Vietnam I am collecting #broomstickcompositions from all over the world as a visual research study to our relation with public space.
